About This Printer

Premium · $700–$900

The X-Max 3 is QIDI's large-format enclosed engineering workhorse. It's one of the only printers under $1,000 that combines a 325×315×315mm build volume, a 350°C capable hotend, an actively heated enclosed chamber, and 600mm/s CoreXY motion. If you regularly print PA, PC, carbon-fiber reinforced filaments, or other high-performance materials, the X-Max 3 is in a class of its own at this price.

What it does well

  • 350°C hotend handles PA, PC, PEEK-adjacent materials, and CF composites
  • Actively heated chamber improves adhesion and reduces warping on engineering materials
  • Huge 325×315×315mm enclosed build volume
  • 600mm/s CoreXY — fast for a machine with full chamber heating
  • Excellent value for engineering-grade material printing

Limitations to know

  • Expensive and large — requires significant bench space and budget
  • Chamber heating makes it slower to reach printing temperatures
  • Smaller ecosystem than Bambu; fewer third-party slicer profiles
  • Not necessary (and overkill) for PLA/PETG-only users

Best For

EnthusiastsProfessionals

Ideal Use Case

Engineers, product designers, or advanced makers who regularly print high-temperature engineering filaments like PA-CF, PC, or TPU at large scale.
